Noreen Raines is a self-proclaimed science nerd and entrepreneur extraordinaire. She is also the CEO and Founder of Big Thinkers, a family-run company that combines her love of science and entrepreneurship. Since 2008, Noreen and her team have been inspiring lifelong learning through fun science education with interactive stage shows, in-school programming, birthday parties, summer camps, workshops and more.
Not so coincidentally, Noreen’s own love science began when she received a microscope for Christmas at just 8 years old. Thereafter, her teachers fostered her passion for science and that very passion later became her driving force. Even as African-American peers became fewer and farther between, Noreen stayed the course, committed to a career in science.
As a result, she has become a strong proponent for creating positive, lasting memories for children in the sciences. Over the years, Noreen has committed a great deal of her time to volunteering, mentoring and outreach to girls and students of color in an effort to introduce science as a viable career path. She has even offered Paid Time Off to full-time members of her team to do the same.
Prior to the success of Big Thinkers, Noreen graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Agnes Scott College. When not encouraging others to think big, she continually fosters her own curiosity of life and learning with her four young children in Atlanta.
